A landscape engineering work that led to the first landscaped roofs of Malaga.
Year 2018
Area 3.000m²
Location Puerto de Málaga
The work that signified the great transformation of the port of Malaga and made it a space open to its citizens.
The chimneys of the catering premises were covered with vertical gardens to avoid the visual impact generated by the steel ducts on the Paseo de la Farola. With this solution, its integration into the landscape was a complete success.
In this project the first landscaped roofs of Malaga were carried out, with all the plantations of Paseo de la Farola. The challenge from the first moment was to face the lack of thickness of the planting layer, which was solved by giving more thickness to the substrate in the central areas of the flower beds.
122 palm trees over 12 meters of age were employed in the whole work and 90 square meters of vertical gardens were installed.
